What we collect

When you use this site or contact us for a free claim review, we may collect:

  • Information you provide directly: your name, contact information (phone or email), the property address or county, your relationship to the property, and any other details you choose to share.
  • Basic technical information: IP address, browser type, pages visited. This is standard web traffic data and is used to operate the site.

We do not request, and do not want, sensitive financial information (Social Security numbers, bank accounts, credit card numbers) through this website. If you ever receive a request for such information from a contact form claiming to be us, do not provide it — and please report it to us.

How we use it

We use the information you give us solely to:

  • Evaluate whether a surplus funds claim is possible.
  • Contact you about your inquiry.
  • Prepare and file claim paperwork on your behalf, if you choose to engage us.
  • Comply with applicable laws.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for marketing purposes.

Who we share it with

We may share your information with:

  • Licensed attorneys we engage in states where legal filings require attorney involvement, solely for purposes of pursuing your claim.
  • Government offices (courts, treasurers, trustees, unclaimed property divisions) as required to file your claim.
  • Service providers who help us operate (such as our website host, email provider, document storage). These providers are required to protect your information.
  • Anyone we are legally required to share with in response to a court order, subpoena, or other legal process.

SMS messaging

If you opt in to receive SMS messages from us — by checking the SMS consent box on our claim review form, by giving us your number on a call, or by texting our toll-free number — we will use your phone number only to communicate with you about your surplus funds claim. This includes status updates, document requests, appointment reminders, and follow-ups.

We will not sell, rent, or share your phone number, your opt-in status, or your SMS conversation content with any third party for that third party's marketing purposes. We may share with the licensed attorneys we engage on your behalf, with government offices to file your claim, and with service providers (such as our SMS platform) who need it to operate our service — all under confidentiality obligations.

You can opt out of our SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any text we send. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Full SMS terms are on our SMS Terms & Opt-In page.

How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, including encryption of communications and secure storage. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, but we work to use industry-standard practices.

Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies, primarily for basic functionality. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or remarketing pixels. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

You can request to see what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at the information below. Some information may need to be retained for legal or recordkeeping reasons even after a deletion request.

Children

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
